Go take a walk in your neighborhood. I don’t know where you live, but I am sure that you will find an empty or abandoned public space [urban gaps] that will make you wonder “Why?”. How can people transform these public areas into places that they mark as their place?
“Astika Koina” is a participatory urban planning game organized by the team Commoners code the city, based on the belief that we have to give people a say in the development of their urban surroundings.
Through neighborhood storytelling, the methodology of participatory planning, and of course by playing we will shape the intangible and material place, we will become neighbors by knowing and share something in common, our neighborhood.
Come on! Let’s start now! Let’s open the design process to everyone and redefine the philosophy of neighborhood.
Let’s be #commoners!
